Most of the synchronizers and clutch sleeves have a central chamber between the two parts to be broached. When we have a shorter length (<10 mm ~), we generally recommend buying a helical-toothed broach.
With its forty years’ experience, Bart has designed an alternative solution: the broach with double external alternating calibrating teeth.
The peculiarity is the translated pitch made ad hoc for the single piece, which will allow to broach the reduced length, avoiding the costs and longer delivery times necessary for broaches with helical cutting teeth. We have just finished the construction of an involute spline broach with double external alternating calibrating teeth to make clutch sleeves that will be mounted on gear changes.
